Ed

Ed is a great little pig. He is a trainee in the pig brigade, who looks up to his little bigger brothers Blitzen and Donner. Ed has a zest for life and loves candy canes and of all things, peanut butter bon bons. He really likes coins and bills and even if the coins are chocolate, he doesn't mind. So long as they're wrapped and kept cool. HA!

Blitzen

Blitzen has a lot of energy. His energy is best spent counting coins as you drop them in. Just like his brothers Donner and Ed, he doesn't fly unless propelled. But I wouldn't recommend that, most especially on a fully belly. He wanted to be a Christmas present, but it didn't work out. But it worked out for the best because I know there is someone on Etsy who will love and take care of Blitzen.

BLITZEN has been given as a gift for a new little baby boy!! YAY!!

Donner

Donner, Blitzen and Ed love Christmas. They really wanted to be Christmas presents, but it just didn't work out that way. But it's OK because I told all three of them that they would find a very happy home with some wonderful person on Etsy. They'd just have to be patient. Unlike the reindeer, this Donner doesn't fly unless propelled. Which I wouldn't recommend. Donner loves big fat dollar coins and likes the occasional paper bill for well, you know, fiber. Of course each cork is removable so you don't need to break this pig to get at his treasures. Just pop out his nose and give him a good shake.

2 pigs for Cottontail

These two pigs were made custom for Cottontail, who believe you me, was as patient as a saint!  It took me WAY too long to complete her order but she was very congenial about it, and I DO appreciate it.  These two piggies are a bit forlorn for right now because I didn't want to take the privilege to name them. I thought I'd leave that to her girls.   But they both have very sweet demeanors.  The purple piggy loves anything pirate and the "port wine" piggy, well, need I say more? :)  The girl's got good taste!!  :)  Enjoy these piggies Kat!

Calvin

Calvin is very shiney, that's why we called him Calvin (which means "Bald" in Latin).  Calvin too, came with Fillmore and Peanut from North Carolina.  He's the business man of the group.  Should we say, the little piggy who built his house out of Bricks.

UPDATE!  Calvin has been adopted by my friend Sharon!  He was so SO excited when I put him in the car he could barely contain himself.  But he did, and now he's home with Sharon!  For a while anyway, he's going to be another Christmas present!

Peanut

Peanut is the littlest of this band of piggies.  He is pretty sweet.  He came here with Fillmore from North Carolina and settled right in amongst his new friends.  He loves pumpkins, as you can see.  We can't seem to keep him from the pie pumpkins...ya suppose he is trying to tell me something?

UPDATE!  Peanut was adopted and is headed to California!  He's very excited to be going there.  He squeeled with joy when I told him!

Fillmore

Fillmore is a bit of a hippie.  His coloring is due to the help of a two year old which he totally supported.  He said that a kids creativity shouldn't be squelched and so we ended up with all kinds of colors.  Which turned out to be very cool.  Fillmore grew up in North Carolina and traveled far to Iowa.  He made his home here for a while but is ready to move on.  That said, Fillmore is really ready to settle down with a nice family.

UPDATE!  Fillmore was adopted by a nice family in Illinois!  He's a Christmas present, which makes him very happy.

Halloween - Batty Little Piggy

Batty Little Piggy is a one of a kind piggy.  He's got little batty ears and a crazy halloween smile.  All jagged and rough and even smeary is some spots.  He will not be duplicated.
Batty is a little funny because he was bitten by a bat when he was just a piglet.  On the vine.  Apparently bats really like gourds!  So batty is the result.  But his mommy and daddy still loved him very much and it didn't take long to find him a new home in Texas with Kat!  Yep, she adopted Claire too!

I'm sure Batty will be hanging around more of the year than just Halloween.  He's a real charmer!  He's a great piggy to hide all of your halloween candy in!

UPDATE!  Batty little piggy was purchased by Kat at Cottontail !  He helped hand out candy and keep the atmostphere light with his silly grin.  Thanks Kat!  Batty makes his new home with Clara in Texas.

Rupert

Last but not least is Rupert. He is a big red piggy with a big red heart. Rupert was the protector of all his brothers and sisters in his litter, especially Paolo. He is waiting for a happy home where some little boy or girl may need some protection from the boogie monster. He stands guard without abandon. If your little girl or boy is afraid of the dark, Rupert is the answer. He will stand guard and be the perfect watch pig. Rupert was "born" here in Iowa to Dolores before he came to me.

Rupert has been adopted by my friend Star.  He's going to a happy home to protect a new babykins!

Paolo the Palo Pig

Paolo was born near that Duane Arnold Energy plant. He has two noses, three eyes, and two tails. He was born without legs, but we're waiting for the prosthetic corks.

Paolo isn't up for adoption but we'll keep his blog entry updated. He has "special needs" and so we decided that he is so sweet and silly that we'd just keep him around here. We really love Paolo. The plan is for Paolo to go to work with Andrew, my husband, where he will get lots of jinglies and lots of love from his co-workers.

Rodney, the Iowa State Fair Pig

Anyone who knows anything about the iowa State Fair knows that everything comes on a stick, and pigs rule the...well...pen. One of the top attractions is the "Big Boar" contest. The Iowa State Fair is also named one of the 1000 places to visit before you die in the book, "1000 places to visit before you die..." Clever. Anyway, Rodney had a most unfortunate accident on the way to the fair, so here he is. Yes, it's slightly disturbing, but only until you get to know Rodney. He is very sweet, and he will charm the pants right off of you. Besides, Rodney is one of a kind. There'll never be another Iowa State Fair pig quite like him. Rodney is available at simplysilly.etsy.com

Summer

Summer is the wallflower of the bunch. She is a little bit bohemie, a little bit flower child, a little bit geek, a little bit wallflower. But she is very pretty. She's multicolored. Various shades of orange, blue, purple, even copper grace her shell. She has a danish cord tail and leather ears. Her feet are made of wooden beads. It makes her taller.

Summer was born here in Iowa to Amy (near Des Moines) before she made it here to my house.

Summer was adopted by a nice family who loves our piggies and our gourds in general.  I'm so excited that she has a happy home!!

Razz-berry

Razz is such a pretty pig! She's super popular with little girls. You could say that she's the Brittany Spears (with underwear and pre-breakdown) of pigs. She's very pretty, a lot of fun, and she brightens up any room she enters. Razz was born here in Iowa to Dolores before she came to me.

Razz is available at simplysilly.etsy.com

Sally

Sally is sure a handsome girl! She was the second biggest out of this litter, but she's still feminine as can be. She's a dark violet color, with pretty purple eyes and soft brown ears. She has lots of room for jinglies in her belly. jsut like her brothers and sisters, she has a real cork nose and real cork feet. No coins will fit through her foot holes, but you can remove coins through her nose. Sally was born here in Iowa to Dolores, before she came to stay with us.

Sally was adopted by the same family who adopted "Summer."  They are officially my best customers :)

Penny

Penny is the color of a brand new chiney-I mean shiney-penny. She has big eyes that are slightly slanted, like almonds. I guess. At any rate, she's a little thinner than the other cannonball gourds so that makes her a bit more delicate. Like a little flower. Penny was born here in Iowa to Amy, before she came to stay with us.

Penny is going to one of our nieces for Christmas (she put her bid in early and so how can I say no?)

Peppy

Peppy was named not only for her "peppy" personality, but also because of her traditional pink piggy color. My husband named her peppy after his favorite antacid. She's very sweet though, and would love to be a pink princess. She's love to go home with a little girl princess. Peppy was born here in Iowa to Dolores, before she came to stay with us.

Peppy was adopted by my friend Star (along with Rupert.)  She too will be going to protect a new babykins.  YAY!  Star is also my new most loyal customer :)

Clara

Clara is very curious, as you can see in her photo. It was difficult to get Clara's photo because she was pretty busy snooping around. She's a very pretty two tone blue color. She's quite a bit smaller than her brother Blu, but she's sure mighty. She needs a little time to grow into her ears though. She takes after Bob that way (Bob is her big brother from a previous litter.)

UPDATE!
Clara has been adopted by Kat in Texas. Thanks Kat! I know Clara will love your little girls :)

UPDATE TOO:
Kat's update on Clara:
"Yes, Clara made the long trek without a problem. She mentioned she did not enjoy the cramped quarters of her shipping box and begged me to ask you to make some flying pigs. I explained to her that pigs do not have wings, but she is beyond reasoning with...evidently she overheard someone use the phrase "When pigs fly" and took it to heart.
Being a curious piggie, she has already been seen poking her snout into various corners of our house. I'm sure that she is just trying to find a place to settle in.
(Lots of giggles)
I was just posting a couple of new items on my site - once I've finished I'll go out and leave feedback for you. Thank you so much for the little bit of happy you've added to my life!"

Jonny Apple Gourd Seed

Jonny Apple Gourd Seed is the biggest of all this brewd of pigs. He really likes mud, and so it's a good thing that he's brown. He stays cool in the hot Iowa summer by rolling and rolling and rolling. That's why he stands a bit crooked. He's a little dizzy. Jonny was born here in Iowa to Dolores, before he came to stay with us.

Jonny Apple Gourd Seed is available at simplysilly.etsy.com

Peter

Named after Peter Pettigrew, this piggy bears NO resemblence except that he's littler than the other piggies. Peter went with Blu to be gifted to her other grandson. Peter is pretty quick on his feet, even though they're little. He'll get along great!

Blu

Blu met the fortunate fate of going home with grandma Debbie. Blu was sure sweet and mild mannered while here at home. It will do him good to remain so as he will be soon gifted to one of Debbie's grandsons, and I'm sure he'll get a workout!

APPLE

Apple is a unique little pig. She is the color of a green apple. She's a bit bespeckled, but that sure makes her unique! She found a very happy home with Bill and Dolores, where she was originally born.

All The Piggies & 1 Boy

Four little piggies waiting to go to market

One little boy who loves his mamma's piggies. Angel and Blueberry

Bebe & Greta were great friends!

Chester and FeeBee, CheBee, the Brangelina of piggies.

Coco-a

Coco-a is a pretty demure little piggy. She stands alone in the fact that her ears are flat against her body. They're painted a cocoa color, that is what gives her the name Coco-a. I'm not sure why I added the -a at the end of her name, but I'm pretty sure it's because I wasn't sure if she should be a Coco like Coco Chanel or a Cocoa like chocolate, because she's the color of the most yummy decadent chocolate. Either way, she found her home with a little girl who shared my fondness for her. I was elated when she told her mommy "I want coco-a!" I always thought Coco-a looked a little more like a guinea pig than a piggy pig but hey, it works for her.

FeeBee

FeeBee is still hanging out at our place with Bob. Right now she is sitting atop the printer next to me as I type (I'm waiting to get my macbook so I can sit in front of the tele with a cup of Joe...) She is very much a "lady" in every way. From the tips of her very lady like eyelashes to the tips of her teeny tiny cork feet. She is really more honey colored than this picture gives her credit for, but she liked this photo because she thought it accentuated her "curves".

If you like FeeBee, you can see her listing at www.simplysilly.etsy.com

Angel

Angel is a cutie pie! She went home with a lady towards the end of the day on July 7. She was one of the first pigs everyone picked up, probably because she was so cute and sweet (alas the name "Angel"). She is a pretty pig who is best for very small coin and paper money. Quarters won't fit through her little piggy nose, that's just the way she was made.

Greta

I 'reGreta' to say that I don't recall who purchased Greta. I do know that several women wanted to buy her but then sat her down and kept going. As they walked away I exclaimed "You'll 'reGreta' that decision!! She may not be here when you come back!!" Alas, she was gone by the end of the day. Greta is a sweet, plump little piggy, with a stubby little nose, chubby cheeks and a very unique gourd stem tail! She doesn't have a leather tail like the other piggies. Greta's special trade marks are her special tail and her cross eyes. She is such a cute piggy, I'm sure the person that bought her doesn't "regreta" it a bit.

Meredith

Meredith is a sweet quiet little piggy. Just perfect for a spot at a desk in an office. She, like Bob, has ears that just do what they want to do. But it works for Meredith. Meredith was hand delivered by me to my Aunt & (Fairy) Godmother Sally (Brighton's Nana Sally) to take to work. She has a scratch along her back that she got in a "farming" accident, which I think makes her unique, but others didn't see it that way. So Meredith will be a perfect piggy to hold "jinglies" for this or that or for when Nana Sally get's the whim to buy a Iced Venti Blueberry White Tea Lemonade...Got all that?

Bebe

Bebe has to be my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love ALL my piggies very much, but Bebe is just so loveable. She has big BIG eyes to match her BIG BIG cork nose that just stare right into your softened heart. Bebe went home with a very good family friend, Sally. Sally took on the task of throwing me a baby shower when Brighton was just a wee pod in my belly. (Well, at that time he was pretty big...) I promised her a pig and it only took me two years and a couple months to make due...but I did finally, with Bebe. And now Bebe sits atop their fireplace mantle, where with her big eyes, she can keep a pig's eye view on the goingsons. Who knows if she'll ever have "jinglies" but she sure will be happy.

Bob

I love Bob. Bob is like a german shepherd puppy who hasn't grown into his ears yet. He has one ear that flops over and one ear that stands up straight. He is another that was born from Dolores' garden of mystery shaped gourds. OF course, I love them because they make perfect piggies! He is very sweet and mild mannered and loves "jinglies" in his belly. He is still waiting for that special person to love him forever...If you are that person, you can find him on simplysilly.etsy.com

UPDATE: Bob has a new home! He was adopted on 8/2 by Marci (crazy huh?) in New Jersey. I know she will love him and won't regretta it a bit!!

Chester

Sweet Chester! One of my very favorites. Chester was the first to go home at the market. A nice lady immediately fell in love with his big silly eyes and his soft leather ears. She said "I must have this pig!" And so I said "OK! He's YOURS!" It was love at first sight.

Chester was born in Iowa in 2006 to Amy S. He is "made from" an Iowa grown cannonball gourd (all of the round piggies were born here in Iowa to Amy). He is modestly shelled, but tough as nails. I'm sure he has a place of honour among his new lady's best piggies.

Spot

Spot oh Spot. Such a sweet little piggy. Spot was named so because he has a very unique "birthmark" on his nose that very closely resembles my fingerprint in black. Hmmm...He was born in Iowa to a friend, Dolores R. His shape is very unique to her gourds. She didn't intend to have piggy shaped gourds, but it just so worked out that way. He became spot on July 1, 2007. Spot was the very lucky pig to get to go home with a little boy who found him at the farmer's market in Cedar Rapids. I believe he was about Brighton's age, and so I know he will be put to the test! But at least his belly will have lots of room for "jinglies" for some time to come.

Blueberry

Blueberry was born on 7/1/07. Ok, well she was born before that but she became "blueberry" right around that day. She was the only one of her "litter" to actually become blue, which makes her extra special. She is also the only piggy with blue eyes. Blueberry very much wanted to go to a home with children who would love her and fill her up with lots of "jinglies." She got her wish on July 7 when two boys and their father came to the Farmer's Market in Downtown Cedar Rapids and picked her out over many of her brothers and sisters. She is now on her way to her new home in Tokyo, Japan. Though I'm sure Blueberry will pick up the language and customs very quickly, her big blue eyes will surely get her places as well.
